Algorithms of Post Human Desire
2015
The work is inspired by the notion of a lone device user. Alone but not lonely connecting the self to the landscapes. In my mind it is a take on Daniel Defoe’s ‘Robinson Crusoe’ in the digital age searching, exploring and building ones own environment. The work is reminiscent of pattern recognition and a kind of hacking system where one system attaches to another by common shapes or patterns. This body of work is shaped by the context of post human landscapes. Landscapes here are perceived as forms of data streams and sites of organic growth. Remote sites attach themselves to larger data streams.
