Digital Materiality

During my Masters studies in Wimbledon, London my children where living in Malta. This video artwork was inspired by the times my children and I would yern for tactility during video calls. Digital Materiality was informed by interest in exploring what tactility within a digital world might look like. By breaking down online visual and audible digital communication the abstract form teases out the raw materials of digital video signals and sound. Digital materiality was installed as a 10sec loop at Wimbledon Space, Wimbledon College of Art as part of the collective "Six Degrees Of Separation" curated by Mr Juan Bolivar which for me was an ideal setting as it references a time and a place of emotional turmoil.
